You can call these
spiritual vitamins
(affirmations,
blessings, short
meditative rituals...)

Three elements are necessary to create a negative environment.

1. A critical stream of thought.

2. Expectations––conscious or repressed of failure.

3. Neglect of spiritual practices

The balance of energy from negative to positive can shift with small provocation. A short, daily ritual of Light work (as long as it retains meaning and enthusiasm) can often mean the difference between success and obstruction. No matter how brief, no matter how unimaginative, any such exercise is far preferable to nothing (or rather its replacement of scattered thoughts and spiraling energy). The very act of persistence in this matter encourages spurts of spiritual development in the Astral Body.

You take vitamins to offset the damage caused by pollutants and bad nutrition. You can call these spiritual vitamins (affirmations, blessings, short meditative rituals) to offset the damage caused by the emotional environment and neglectful mental practices—lack of meditation, prayer, and visualization. Vitamins of a nutritional or spiritual nature will not support the bodies by themselves. However, they sustain the bodies in between nourishment, through the rigors of daily activity.

Take part now in the direction and protection of your life’s purpose. Refuse to indulge in entertainment that insinuates feelings of fear, isolation, or pointlessness. Create a home that has a peaceful rhythm. Include an altar dedicated to remembrance of those who reach down to encourage and aid us. Refuse to entertain feelings of anger (pain & aggression), superiority (territory & exercise of power), or denigration (fight, low self-esteem projected onto others). Whenever these hormonal responses arise, invoke an affirmation to make conscious the antidote and the condition of healing. You are not expected to be perfect in this discipline, but you are expected to be sincere and to make persistent effort.

The greatest adept is one who does not use the power at his command. The greatest happiness is one that has not been pursued. The greatest wealth remains unknown until it is spent. Take nothing for granted. Understand that potential energy does its greatest work when at rest.

One of the roles of the Astral Body is to be the subconscious mind, which controls the greater part of our physical experience. It is merely carrying out the programming of the belief system a person maintains. If your personal myth is “Things go wrong just when I need them to be right,” your careful plans of order will have very little effect on your life experience.

Exercise: Castor oil can be used for external healing and internal cleansing. Edgar Cayce recorded a comprehensive system for using Castor Oil in healing. It is toxic to the body and so is generally used as a laxative. Externally, however, it really is magical. It acts as a barrier to bacteria and prevents infection. Cold oil draws toxins and growths out of the body. Heated, the minerals and resins in the oil go into the body and do its therapeutic work––relaxing the muscles and dispersing abnormal growths. Wool is best for applying compresses, as wool sends both subconscious and conscious messages to the body of comfort and maternal nurturing. Castor oil has no smell, but is very messy.
