The Poets CornerSurprises Hidden Within:
As poets expand their creativity--their general journaling and daily logs start developing into something other than just text. Subconsciously, the mind's eye begins to take control of the hand and from it flows original phrasing. The spirit within begins to awaken and the body starts to learn another technique. Now, this wondrous means of expression takes over the soul as the terminology grows. All the aspects of our essence responds to rhythms and poetic devices, striving towards a future elegance. Poetry carries each to levels of healing and fulfillment previously unknown, when we open our hearts to accept its surprises. --Albert Lee Moran

SUN UP

I dreamt I could see the year to come,

beyond fearful comets or tarot cards,

beyond a palmist's lines of head or heart,

beyond a medium of tea leaves

in my cup,

to where the earth was a crystal ball.

I could view it all, clear through

to the side where the sun was always up,

and a dark downside

was just my point of view.

HOW I SEE SUSANNA

She's an angel without wings.

She's a lady without airs.

She's beauty when it sings.

She's love without a care.

She has passions deep as mine.

She has beauty and to spare.

She has style so well refined.

She has ways I find so fair.

WINTER RENDEZVOUS

Meet me there, among the pine, where

green merges with silky powder and

needles tremble with musical whisper.

Drink with me of this luscious fruit.

Let us meld like earth and root.

Fill the emptiness of my nest with

the echoes of a midnight sky.

I will warm your cool breath with

mine, till the needles fall

onto the earth and

crows pray

IF I MAY SAY

From the waves of your tresses

flows the river of my dreams;

The flower blooming from your lips

Fills the vase of my heart.

Hearing the voice of your heart

God comes into my heart,

delirious, a whirling dervish.

MISSING YOU

Old eucalyptus is bright with birds this morning

Red-headed woodpecker at attention on the trunk

Little yellow warblers hopping branch to branch

Ruby-breasted finches flutter at the feeder

I need to say, "Oh, Honey, look!"
