Your subconscious
mind is simply

trying to do its job
of “protecting”
your held beliefs
from any new ones.

It’s that time of the year again, when we introspect and evaluate our lives and set some new goals for our future. This is a wonderful time for new beginnings. It is when the Earth rests and prepares for the new birth in the spring. This is indeed a perfect time for us to go inward and prepare for conscious change. But this is a scary word to our minds: “Change!” Let’s analyze this for a moment. Every year we go thru the same motion: setting a lofty, totally reasonable ‘new year’s resolution’, something we always wanted to accomplish––whether our resolution includes the change of a negative behavior or addiction, more peace in our relationships, change careers, lose weight, less stress in our lives, manifest more abundance and prosperity, become healthy, or even something as spiritual as finding our true purpose––but what really happens? How far do we take it? Do we even get started, and if we do, how much do we struggle “sticking” to it? And, how long before we sabotage our own efforts and go back to our comfortable zone? Yes, back to our old ways, unhappy and unfulfilled, but comfortably so. Unhappy and unfulfilled, we start the blaming game.

After having failed at accomplishing our resolution for the year, we move on to blame it on lack of time, blame it on others, blame it on ‘it takes money and I don’t have it’, and the worst of all, blaming it on us being incapable and weak and not truly motivated. We try to analyze and justify, but deep inside we’re also feeling the guilt of having failed. So we simply put it behind us, maybe by labeling it ‘a crazy idea’ and keep living with our dreams inside of us.
You can be successful this year, you can start accomplishing your goals and any of your dreams, if you only understand the power of your subconscious mind and how to access it. First, it is critical that you understand your true Nature, that you understand you are a Beautiful and Powerful Being, that you have direct access to Infinite Abundance and Wisdom, that you are more than that, that you are Abundance and Love Itself. You are a Child of the Universe with a birthright to claim all of the good that Life has to offer. In this plane, you have a physical body, a mind, and a Spiritual Body. Your Spiritual Body is that part deep inside of you that wants to come out and express Itself and be happy and joyful. Your physical body is where that Spirit lives. When you disconnect your physical body, your mind and your Spiritual Body, disharmony happens and manifests as illnesses in the body. This physical body, and to certain degree your Spiritual being, are controlled by your mind, especially your subconscious mind. Your subconscious mind is more than 85% of the total mind, your conscious mind is less than 15%. When you set goals, you do it consciously, with this 15% of your mind. The true power resides in your subconscious mind. It is in your subconscious mind where your true beliefs are held. For example, you may “think” (with your conscious mind) that you like yourself, that you are worthy, that you’re confident, but your subconscious mind may be holding a different and opposite belief. At the subconscious level, your true beliefs about yourself may be that you’re not worthy, that you don’t like yourself, that you’re weak or not lovable, that you’re ugly, or that you’re supposed to be sick. Your subconscious mind’s main job is to ensure that your reality is based on these beliefs. Your subconscious mind will sabotage yourself from what you’re attempting to achieve if it contradicts its beliefs. Do you begin to see what is happening? Do you begin to understand why it seems so hard to change? Your subconscious mind does not understand “change”. Your subconscious mind is simply trying to do its job of “protecting” your held beliefs from any new ones. So, even when you “want” to change, your subconscious mind does not easily “accept” your new beliefs. That’s why hypnotherapy and other similar modalities are so effective. Because they allow for the access of your subconscious mind so positive beliefs can be ‘added’ to your mind.

The first step is for you to find out which beliefs are the ones doing the sabotaging. By examining your current reality and patterns you can understand what are the old and negative beliefs that you need to replace in your subconscious mind. For example, if your goal is to lose weight, think of your life, your childhood, and the thoughts in the back of your mind. Is there any indication that in your subconscious mind, you may be holding beliefs such as “I am not worthy”, “I am ugly”, “I hate myself”, or any issues of abuse or negative emotions such as anger? Any of these could be an indication of why you keep sabotaging your efforts toward losing weight. The same process is true for any other area of your life. Once you identify the negative beliefs, direct your focus and attention on the positive beliefs, such “I am worthy”, “I love myself”, “I am prosperous”. Such affirmations and thoughts are very powerful. Once you have effectively changed your subconscious mind, your Spiritual Being aligns to these thoughts and beliefs because it is its true nature. The whole Universe will come rushing with its Infinite Abundance because it is your birthright. Your Spirit, mind and body will be one harmonious being, and your life will reflect just that. Accomplishing your New Years’ Resolutions will be possible! Have a beautiful life and know that you are always blessed. Choose to accept the blessings.
