Relaxation is an opportunity for unprompted altered states which are natural and necessary for all of us.
How often do we make good use of our time? Most of us set aside a portion of our day for recreation, relaxation, or things we need to do. People who push their time, yet have some freedom within their structures, usually are goal and success oriented. Those who don’t push their time are spontaneous, flexible and resourceful, enabling them to take advantage of opportunities when they arise. Whether you are in either of these categories or a mixture of both, relaxation plays a part in your life.
For those who are structured, relaxation is a time to mix business and pleasure. For the spontaneous, it’s a time for possible adventure and/or exploration. Relaxation is an opportunity for unprompted altered states which are natural and necessary for all of us.
Relaxation is the prelude to spontaneous meditation and/or psychic phenomena. It’s when a trained individual who’s sensitive to the varied opportunities that appear can take advantage of this open door. When given the chance to truly relax, we have a tendency to daydream and fantasize. It’s through the mechanism of daydreams or fantasy that an alert person can move swiftly to harvest whatever comes to them. When a person is fantasizing they’re in contact with whatever they fantasize about, psychically and spiritually. With little effort a person can train themselves through fantasy or daydreams to create possible manifestations, correct existing realities, find solutions, gather information and develop sensitivity toward psychic phenomena. All of this is done in a spirit of play and fun. It’s a gentle spiritual/psychic discipline we could all participate in, that leads us to a desired goal. It’s not “downtime” when used correctly, yet remains in the area of relaxation and pleasure. It need not be regimented, predictable or tedious discipline.
One of the many things we can do is to develop some of our psychic abilities. By focusing our attention on the sounds and dialogue as we daydream, we can develop our clairaudience. By colorizing our daydreams and sharpening our clarity we will develop clairvoyance. When listening to atmospheric or classical music, and allowing imagery to flow unimpeded while using the aforementioned techniques it’s possible to spontaneously receive information. Adding this to our spiritual practice rejuvenates us for the more serious techniques we may be using, and for the beginner it’s a lovely and playful introduction. Over a period of time these fantasies and daydreams become tools that can enhance our life. They become joyful, non-confronting methods for self-exploration and healing. These gentle and loving techniques are a wonderful addition for those seeking self mastery.
