During one of our early morning walks, my dear friend Rev. Kris Collins of the East San Gabriel Valley Church of Religious Science, discussed with me a seminar she had recently attended. Kris shared that in one of Jean’s final exercises, they were asked to choose a partner...and specifically, not to partner with someone who ”knew” them.

HIGHLIGHT
It is light that dances softly on baby’s face,
makes me sigh--same sunlight,
same warmth that always has been
we share the sun, my baby and I, with
a hundred million aunties, and mommies,
and grandmothers
A hundred million afternoons, naps,
sighs of gratitude,
And kisses, on soft baby brows
Light, creating moments, shared like
loafs and fishes to a multitude of women
watching babies sleep.
