 For years we have been told by teachers, to ”awaken” from our slumber. To do this, we must look beyond the patterns of this life...patterns and cycles which daily draw us into routines. When these routines are mind-numbing diversions--TV, alcohol, drugs, continual ”lite” reading, or the ”too busy” syndrome--we forget, or do not make time, to be still and go inside to listen to our own counsel.

Palm Reading Clues
“Now
there are besides these characters in our faces certain mystical
figures in our hands,” wrote Sir Thomas Browne in his Religio Medici.
Periodically, I look closely at my hands to take a measure of my
growth. I notice smaller lines occurring in greater abundance on both
palms. But there are many more lines on my left hand than on my right.
This is curious because the left, passive hand is the inherent nature,
the private self. The left hand shows temperment and inborn
characteristics. The right, dominant hand, is the report card of
worldly growth, the indicator of how one has played out those
tendencies of character shown by the lines in the left hand. |
