A cancerous self-interest is threatening to consume our entire planet. This is the Gordian Knot of the 21st century. Any one of the local symptoms can (and probably should) be addressed. However, the disease is pandemic and is now overtaking even the parasites who so blindly consume their hosts.
Is it any wonder that collectively we seek any anesthetic at any price. Our newly adopted value systems treasure distraction above all else--lest we find ourselves gazing into the mirror.
WHAT TO DO
My personal solution was to write Going Deeper and to devote the rest of my life to the work of letting people know that infinite options exist--if only we would awaken. As you go, so goes Nepal, Indonesia, India, Pakistan, Colombia, Ireland, The United States of America, Spain, Israel, Palestine, Zimbabwe, and on, and on, until the name of every single nation is recorded.
I ask that each reader offer prayer--but I also ask for far more than that. It is no longer enough to break from our unconscious routines, sit in quiet prayer or meditation for a few moments, only to return to our distractions. I also ask that each recipient embrace the unpleasant reality that the unpalatable world condition is a projection of each of us.
The pollution that clouds our skies and oceans, permeates our financial dealings, our religions and political institutions, our personal relationships and business dealings, arises not from others--but from within each of us. I would ask that if we are sincere in wishing to affect change and right the wrongs we perceive, we each first act inwardly. Once we have righted our own ship of state we will know exactly how best to proceed correcting the course of others. "They" do not exist except in our convenient world of distraction in which winning and losing are the consequences of games well played.
We have work to do, you and I. The fate of an incredibly beautiful planet and six and a quarter billion magnificent sleeping beings hangs in the balance. We now must create a new game--a game of win-win! It can begin now (this very moment) with a kind thought you send yourself. From there, radiate similar thoughts to the three people you love most in your life; then to others that come to mind. Project it to everyone you meet--as if he/she were the Messiah or Kwan Yin. Continue this throughout the day and into the night until it becomes your living and sleeping mantra.
This simple activity will gradually erode the shroud of fear and will rekindle the spark of the most undervalued attribute possessed by all consciousness--curiosity. From there you will become once again the wondrous child you abandoned long, long ago.
The world we live in now is no place for this precious child. I will start fixing it before going to bed. Will you help me, please?
In light and love,
