"Having studied Ilie Cioaras inspired book, I am quite convinced that if its wonderfully wise contents are read diligently, and its prescribed practise is persistenly followed, then it will gradually and gracefully lead the fortunate reader to his or her own Self Realisation." Alan Jacobs, Poet and President of the Ramana Maharshi Foundation UK

--Glennyce Eckersley--

glennyceeckerslyI am sitting in my study watching with fascination the large flakes of snow falling outside the window. The temperature is way below freezing and I am literally ‘California dreaming’! I recall those years I lived in Los Angeles and loved to stroll along the beach in the sunshine on February days! Here I am however, back home in chilly England and although I love the view I have of frosted trees and snow capped hills I am more than happy to stay indoors. I was suddenly reminded of an incident experienced by my nephew one cold winter it is a story I would like to share with you

In February a few years ago, a nephew of mine had a climbing holiday in the beautiful mountains of Snowdonia North Wales. This is a challenging and popular area for UK climbers and indeed for visitors from all over the globe. It had been a long day and the weather was turning nasty when my nephew and his companions decided it was time to head for home. Easier said than done, for the snow began to fall heavily and quickly visibility was down to almost zero.

One of the climbing party remembered vaguely that he had been told of a hut somewhere in the vicinity. It was he thought, high on the mountain enabling climbers to shelter in adverse weather conditions It did appear to be a remote possibility but never the less the group decided it was their only option. Struggling optimistically up the mountain even higher, they had no idea where this hut might be located. Suddenly to their disbelief and huge relief, ahead of the party appeared a feint light. Excitement mounted as they wondered if in fact this could be a light from the shelter. As they slowly made their way upwards the light grew brighter and so with great cheerfulness they pressed on. Soon the welcoming shape of a mountain hut appeared, light streaming through the windows onto the snow.

Publishers Description: This wonderfully unique collaboration brings together two masters of their fields, joining original words by spiritual teacher Eckhart Tolle with delightful illustrations by Patrick McDonnell, the creator of the acclaimed comic strip MUTTS. Every heartwarming page provokes thought, insight, and smiling reverence for all beings and each moment.

More than a collection of witty and charming drawings, the marriage of Patrick McDonnell's art and Eckhart Tolle's words conveys a profound love of nature, of animals, of humans, of all life-forms. Guardians of Being celebrates and reminds us of not only the oneness of all life but also the wonder and joy to be found in the present moment, amid the beauty we sometimes forget to notice all around us.

The Everyday Wisdom of Thich Nhat Hanh

Publishers Description: Bringing the energy of true presence into our lives really does change things for the better—and all it takes is a little training. This treasury of 365 gems of daily wisdom from one of the most beloved Buddhist teachers of our age is a help and support for anyone who wants to train to meet every moment of life with 100 percent attention. Thich Nhat Hanh shows how practicing mindfulness can transform every area of our lives—and how its benefits radiate beyond us to affect others and the whole, larger world.

Editor's Notes: I don't have much to add to the description other than it is true to most of Hanh's books - full of inspiration, thoughtfulness, and upliftment. This is a lovely way to start the day. I don't take them in order, but open randomly each morning for a "message" to start my day. This morning, I turned to 121, "Every object of the mind is itself mind." Words to ponder for sure.

Author of 101 Relationship Myths – How to Stop Them from Sabotaging Your Happiness

Just days before the release of the book, my annoying alter ego woke me up in the middle of the night saying …

Oh my God, Tim, what have you done!

What?

I just read one of the first chapters in your new book “101 Relationship Myths – How to Stop Them from Sabotaging Your Happiness”.

Yeah… so?

Well, quite frankly, I’m shocked. The title of the chapter is “Stay away from women in their 30s”!

Love

Out of the depths of despair

You came and said that you care.

When I look into the windows of your eyes,

I see myself naked and without lies.

I feel your love and it helps me see,

The me that I am told to love as much as thee.
