to discern what to perceive.
As a young mother with two
growing children in tow,
I had to read and take classes
to understand what I should know.
Then as a middle aged 90’s
woman of the day,
I learned by reading, listening, and
taking classes to travel the right way.
When an under tow came and
took my husband away,
My life was changed since I
was traveling alone each day.
Along came a new love across
my path in a healing group,
We dated and were married
in a sixty day loop.
As a minister and a senior I
know I am responsible for my life,
I should be able to help others
relieve their stress and their strife.
Having taken classes which have
imparted great understanding to me,
These things through birth I had
forgotten, I now remember how to be.
Now I stop to observe my
reactions to everyday things,
To life’s day to day stresses and emotional dings.

I have been taught the
five steps of prayer,
I have learned to react
with love and great care.
As I go to the source with
my confidence so true,
In gratitude I let it go, saying
this or something better will do.
Forgiveness through trial
and error I have learned,
That way I can get rid of
the negative and not get burned.
Today in my life I know
the way that it works,
I finally know how to do
things and still get my perks.
I know that for me, my
learning will never be ending,
For in diligent prayer and
Time I will be spending .
I will surrender where go from
Here as it is the unknown
But, you see, I now know that I will
Never again feel that I walk alone.
