Choosing an Essence
Allow your intuition to help you decide which essence (or essences) you need at this time.
As you read through the descriptions of the El Sereno Essences, notice which words stand out for you, or which pictures appeal to you. These are the ones you will benefit from most right now.

Whatever way you have of tapping in to your intuition will help you select one to take.
Using the El Sereno Essences
Once you have chosen an essence, decide on a way to use it.
• Oral dose - It is easiest to take flower essences internally, but because they are preserved in brandy, if you are alcohol-sensitive choose another option. Otherwise, put 2-3 drops of the essence under your tongue. Allow it to absorb. Or you can put a few drops in water and sip it throughout the day.
• Topical application - you can absorb the energy of the essence through your skin. I recommend applying a couple of drops of the essence to your heart center or the base of your skull. (This is a good technique for children and animals too.)
• Environmental application - you can spread the essence through a room by putting 30 drops in a cup of water and either squirting it through a plant mister or spritzing it with your fingers. Keep any leftover solution in the fridge for up to a week, re-applying as needed.
(Caution: Make certain not to touch the dropper to your mouth or hands because your vibration can interfere with that of the essence. If you do touch the dropper, wash it with soap and water and let it dry completely before putting it back in the bottle.)
Before you take an essence, calm and center yourself, and take stock of how you are feeling. Then take a couple of drops of the essence, either directly under your tongue or in water, and sit quietly to see if you notice anything. The essences are quite subtle, and you might not be able to immediately discern the effects. That’s okay, just keep paying attention as you use the essences, and the benefits will become apparent.
Part of the beauty of the El Sereno Essences is their ability to bring you into the present moment, whatever that may be, and truly experience it.

Some of our customers are more creative in using the essences than we could have imagined. (Notice that for some of these suggestions, you don’t even need to have the essences.)

•Keep the essences near your water glass. Whenever you refill it, put in a drop of the essence that appeals to you.
•When you are feeling stressed, look at the page of pictures of the garden and allow the energy of the plants to return you to center.
•Print out the pictures of the plants and sleep with them under your pillow. Let the essences work in your dreams.
•Choose one essence and use it for 10-12 days. Notice how it helps you work through a specific process or issue.
•When you are moving quickly through a process, take an essence every two hours that you are awake. Notice the support and inner strength you feel as you do your inner work.
