A study published in the April 2 issue of Consciousness and Cognition found that 20 minutes of meditation each day can improve cognitive skills in as short as four days. The research involved 63 students randomly split into two groups. Researchers trained one group on mindfulness meditation while the other group listened to J.R.R. Tolkein's fantasy novel, The Hobbit. Before and after the experiment, students from both groups were assessed on their mood and cognitive functions, including memory, concentration and visual attention.
What if the true cause of your distress, pain or illness was at the level of subconscious mind, and that the only way the subconscious could communicate with you was through the body, as reflected in your symptoms? There is perhaps not a single one of us who hasn’t suffered from chronic pain or illness at one time or another. And if you are like most, you focused on the physical nature of that pain or illness, the outward symptoms. Indeed, you naturally defined that pain or illness by those symptoms. Chances are the health professional you sought out did the same. And if you are one of the unlucky one’s, that chronic pain or illness came to define you and your life.
Question: I have experienced panic attacks for years. What is my body trying to tell me? How can I stop them? This is a timely question. With humans fighting around the world, the energy of fear and panic is permeating our planetary psyche. Everyone (including animals) feels it on some level because we are all one. We heal the planetary panic by healing our own.In my experience, panic attacks occur when your energy partially leaves your body. Your body panics because it feels your spirit leaving.
It’s about the smoke! I’ve heard countless reports worldwide of cigarette smoke or cigar smoke being blown into a child’s ear to relieve earache. Someone’s Grandpa, Uncle or Grandma stopped the pain with that simple act of mercy. It’s about the smoke! ...music is a bridge between the human and immortal worlds or between the person and their Higher Self. Music is a language understood by souls without the need of words--a Universal Language.A child’s greatest stimulation for growth and development in the womb is sound. It is the first of all the senses to develop, not yet as hearing, but as feeling. Feeling is our original experience of sound. After birth, sound and music remain with us as carriers and conductors of memories and emotions and thereby our biochemical pharmacy. Sound is an encyclopedia of past knowledge. Music literally acts as a time machine with which to revisit the past, journey through the many doorways of the imagination and explore future realms.

The most powerful anti-depressant there is, is touch, if used responsibly. As a massage therapist, the focus of my practice is to address the problems created in our lives by various stressors and specifically the problems of touch abuse. I stand firmly in the conviction that alternative healers and body workers of all modalities must find ways to antidote these problems. We have at our disposal an opportunity to model a new and powerful quantum paradigm of healing which I would like to see disseminated into the world. This paradigm addresses a new way of thinking about our reality--not just in healthcare--but in life.
"Energy medicine is a holistic philosophy that teaches, 'I am responsible for the creation of my health. I therefore participated, at some level, in the creation of this illness. I can participatein healing this illness by healing myself, which means simultaneously healing my emotional, psychological, physical and spiritual being." --Carolyn Myss, Ph.D. states in her book, Anatomy of the Spirit,
For me to be with him and help him go through this treatment I needed to change my perception of the treatment and the entire process...In fact, I needed to change my belief system about the disease in general. This has been a most unusual year for me...One day I received a phone call from one of my sons telling me he had a large growth in his stomach and the doctors were going to operate and remove whatever it was.
After five days of being in the hospital recovering from surgery, my son finally went home. With time, more tests were required, but they all proved to be negative. The cancer was very much contained and the PET test, bone marrow, CT scan and others indicated no more signs of cancer. I was relieved, but now this young man needed to go through Chemo - therapy.
