It's natural that marriage lines should be close to the Line of the Heart on the hands. The Heart Line is the topmost major line in the hand running directly below the fingers, usually from the index finger of Jupiter or the middle finger of Saturn over to the side of the palm, or "percussion side," directly under the little finger of Mercury. Not surprisingly, marriage lines are to be found directly under Mercury, which symbolizes communication and our interaction with others.

Midway between the Heart Line and Mercury, on the percussion of the hand are the marriage lines. Very small, running vertically up from the marriage lines are the lines for children. Frequently, the lines for children are so small that it is helpful to use a magnifying glass to see them.

Both the marriage lines and the lines for children are something that young women are very curious about. A consummate palm reader will use great circumspection in making observations about these lines on the hands of an inquiring individual. One of the most interesting things about both the marriage lines and the lines for children is that their presence may indicate a powerful connection that takes place without the benefit of a civil ceremony or biological parenthood.

By that I mean that a marriage line can be an indication of a strong soul connection with a significant other. The ways that a love connection may manifest itself in life may vary. The presence of the line is an indication of a life-changing deep affection for another human being.

Similarly, the presence of lines for children in this area of the hand may or may not indicate biological children. These lines can also simply indicate the presence of children in one's life for whom a deep affection is felt.
I recently met a remarkable lady who has a highly responsible job in motion picture post-production. She has great energy and management skill, is charming and is great with people. She also confessed that she recently experienced a romantic breakup. At no time has this individual been married. Nor does she have any biological children.

However, when I looked at the marriage lines using magnifying lenses, I was surprised to see at least twenty little lines for children. This was a greater number than I have ever seen. She confessed that she adored children and told me about her considerable avocational activities assisting other people less fortunate than herself. She also told me that she has lost both her parents and is without biological family in the world.

But despite this, through the abundance of her heart, she has created a greatly extended family for herself. And the lines on her hand told the story. Her heart line was deeply creased, showing a great ability to love. Many little lines curved up from the heart line, demonstrating felicitous relationships arising from the power that comes from deeply held affection and a love for humanity.

The surprising array of lines for children in the hands of this remarkable individual is a linear record of the emotional offspring arising from her great ability to give and feel love. Love itself is the highest wisdom of the heart. It is a transformative engine that will create a family for the one who loves wherever they may go.
