The overview of the month is listed below and will be in operation throughout 2012, regardless of when your birthday is.
Figure the number of your year by adding your birth month to the day of your birth, plus the number 5, for 2012 (2+0+1+2=5). Keep adding the numbers together until you are left with one digit between 1 and 9.
For instance, if your birthday is November 24, you would add 11+ 24 + 5 (for 2012), and the total would be 40. Add 4+0 = 4. If yours comes out to a double digit, reduce this number by adding the total together until you only have one digit. For example, 12 would be added as 1+2=3. 3 is the final digit, so your number for 2012 is 3.
If you have a number that contains a zero, such as 10, add it as follows (1+0=1). If your total is a double digit number such as 11, add each number together until you get only one digit. (1+1=2) Personal years work in nine-year cycles, so we are only concerned with numbers 1 through 9.

Numbers By Design
By Kathleen Jacoby
1 – You may feel that there are others who are claiming your time and energy. There are responsibilities to be met and people to think about. If you’ve been overdoing, you may have health issues to contend with, and the focus is not so much on moving forward as it is in making sure you are taking care of your present obligations and duties. When you give of yourself with a loving heart, you receive in kind. If you feel resentful and obligated, everyone will know it. Check your expectations. Where are you caught in a “fix it” mode, and overdo because you think you “should”, and where do you realistically give people the opportunity to make their own breaks or mistakes so that they learn by doing? No matter what you have to do this month, proceed with a loving and compassionate heart. When you do, there can be much to celebrate!
2 – Focus on deeper meaning. Who are you? Why are you here? Your energy level may be lower and require more sleep or time for rest. Be in nature and contemplate potential projects or areas where you can research or specialize. The garden, trees, mountains, water – all have a restorative and healing influence that assist you during this month. If someone re-emerges in your life from the past, there is unfinished business between you. If you meet someone who feels like you’ve known them forever, there can be an intriguing relationship with much to learn on both your parts. This month focuses on truth and how you have established your sense of self. Uncover and discover parts of yourself you’ve not yet explored. It can be a very rewarding experience!
3 – The focus is on accomplishing a goal or setting something into motion that requires more organizational skills or managing your time and energy more productively. Beyond the doing aspects of life, you are seeking to find a greater degree of balance and harmony, and may find yourself in need of releasing stress. Massage, music, and hydrotherapy are good outlets for pent up energy. Meditation and Tai Chi can also help to integrate opposing forces for a more harmonious flow and ability to overcome tension-producing scenarios. At this time you are the director – so make sure you are creating a symphony.
4 – This month is all about completion and release. It’s time to graduate or go beyond the moment. Higher mind/higher education is part of the quotient. You have the ability to go to the top of a metaphorical mountain and see the bigger picture. By so doing, you can reflect that for others and inspire and motivate them to greater clarity. By moving beyond petty reactions to recognize the need for a broader view you free yourself and others from limitations. This month requires a mature attitude and releasing attachment to all things that are no longer appropriate for the direction your life is taking. By feeling gratitude for what IS in your life, you make room for more good to come.
5 – This is an active time period requiring that you plant new seeds and make connections. It’s a great month for networking and for asserting your own ideas and plans for the future. Perhaps there is a new direction you want to take, or a leadership position that is being offered to you. However the month unfolds, use the opportunities to stand up for what you believe in and assert your point of view. The key to success is to recognize the difference between reasoned self-discipline and impulsiveness. As you pay attention to higher guidance, many good things open up for you. But when you are caught in a defensive, impatient attitude that only wants to have its way, you may be disappointed in what you manifest as the months unfold. Go forward – but look at the signposts along the way and be willing to follow directions!
6 - Something may cause you to awaken to possibilities you hadn’t anticipated previously. There is a quality of the unexpected, so be ready to shift gears or be open to unusual events as the month provides clues to your next step. Modes of communication may involve brilliant insights that need to be shared with others. Conversely, you may feel as though you can’t remember your name. The influence is unstable, so at times you are really “On” and at other times you may feel completely “Off”. Don’t be caught by either one – stay centered in faith and be aware that you are in divine partnership with life, so choose what is nourishing and uplifting. Formulate boundaries and embrace all forms of connections that are mutually beneficial and rewarding.
7 – In May there is more opportunity to take part in social engagements and appreciate a sense of humor. Your gifts of self-expression want to be released and can come forth in written formats or through a specialized area of expertise where creativity and a colorful attitude are required. Whereas you may feel more tired and in need of rest through other parts of this year, May is a time to have more fun, engage in laughter, and enjoy yourself! Emotional issues are confronted when you get too serious about things. You can be loving and have compassion, but don’t let other people’s drama cause you to give up your own possibilities. This month offers a stage, and you can be the star, but if you are off drowning in someone else’s pity party, you miss an opportunity to shine your own light! So show up and express yourself as fully as possible.
8 – What practical steps need to be taken in order to accomplish a cherished goal? This month requires that you look at the blueprint and patterns of your life and find out where things are built on a strong foundation and where they need to undergo scrutiny and possible adjustments. Where are you thinking out of the box, and where are you feeling squeezed by blocked perception? There is much going on that pushes you to overcome some form of limitation. It can be major or minor, and requires willingness to risk to the unknown or push beyond your comfort zone, but when you do – your world can be transformed!
9 – Prepare for change. Travel, investigation, interesting ideas and people to interact with, or a feeling of wanting to just sidestep whatever is demanding attention and requiring action may confront you. An adolescent quality arises, including desire for more freedom, so be sure that you are aware of consequences to your actions. Be particularly careful when signing contracts. Don’t gloss over the fine print. Do a realistic time assessment before making promises. Because it is a month of activity in a year of completion, ask yourself what steps you can take this month to further the agenda of bringing things to fruition. Where do you need to be more discerning? More adventurous? Open your arms to embrace possibilities, then pause and think before making commitments.
