Good things are wantingto happento you and through you.

I saw an extraordinary film called, Standing in the Shadows of Motown. This inspiring documentary chronicles the careers of about a dozen musicians who created and recorded the background music for all the great Motown stars, such as the Supremes, Temptations, Four Tops, and on and on. The posse, known as "the Funk Brothers" turned out more hit records than were ever sold by the Beatles, Beach Boys, and Rolling Stones combined.

When the primal forces of nature tell you to do something, don't quibble over details.––From the movie "Field of Dreams"

For many years my assistant Noel had a dream to become a certified teacher, but was not certain if it was the correct path for her.

One morning Noel arrived at the office glowing. "I have decided to go," she said.

"What made your mind up?" I asked.

Dr. Norman Vincent Peale, author of The Power of Positive Thinking, was seated on an airplane next to a young woman who struck up a conversation with him. When she discovered Dr. Peale was a man of seasoned wisdom, she asked him for help with a dilemma.

"I have been dating two men and both have proposed to me," she explained. "I'm not sure which one to say, 'yes' to. Can you help me decide?"

When I first began meditating, I tried to convert my mother. But Jewish mothers have arsenals of truth that young meditators can't begin to penetrate. "I already know how to meditate," she told me firmly.

"Really?" I asked incredulously. "How do you do it?"

Fear has many reasons not to love; love has one reason not to fear: It alone is real.

At age 15 I attended a summer camp where I developed a major crush on a cute girl named Roberta. The boys' and girls' sides of the camp rarely interacted. I saw Roberta only occasionally and at a distance. But when I did, my heart sang.

One evening the camp leaders took pity on our pining adolescent hormones and organized a coed excursion to a roller skating rink.

Fritz Kreisler was a gifted violinist who had a lifelong dream to own a Stradivarius. When he came to America he took his life savings to New York City's music district and searched many stores. There, he found a shop with a Stradivarius for sale. The shopkeeper went to the back of the store, removed the violin from under lock and key, and showed it to Fritz.
