In Search of Being

In-search-of-beingThe Fourth Way to Consciousness

G.I. Gurdjieff

Publisher's Description:
Are we able to say that life is governed by a group of conscious people? Where are they? Who are they? We see exactly the opposite: that life is governed by those who are the least conscious, by those who are most asleep.

Provocative ideas such as these have attracted generations of thoughtful people to the methods of self-study and inner work devised by Gurdjieff, one of the most radical spiritual teachers of modern times. According to Gurdjieff, the wars raging at this very moment are nothing more than millions of sleeping people trying to annihilate millions of other sleeping people. Contrary to popular belief, there is no such as thing as progress and evolution as long as humanity remains asleep.

Two hundred conscious people could change the whole of life on the earth, Gurdjieff says. If we want to become those conscious people, we must learn how to change ourselves. With the help of self-knowledge and an understanding of our relation to the universe, we can awaken to a higher level of being—if we wish to change ourselves.

Where Am I? Am I dead? Soul Rescue

Lost Souls, Earthbound spirits, and those who don't know they are dead.

--Anita Burns

Spider--WomanAlthough we would like to think that after death everything is beautiful and that we go to a place of love and light, this is not always the case for everyone. In my lifetime and in my too-many-years-to-count of experience with the "dearly" departed, there are a lot of souls who don't find the light and many who don't even know they are dead.

Too often these souls are afraid and confused, not knowing what to do or where to go to find their peace, so they hang around the "living" trying to be heard, crying out for help.

The good news is that helping them is a simple thing to do. Gathering together in a group for the purposes of hearing their stories and helping them find the light literally saves souls.

Soul rescue is a work that really makes my heart sing. Although I had facilitated rescue circles for many years, it was never more personal than when my stepfather died. He had been ill for some time but always pulled through a crises. This time, when mother said he was in the hospital for colon problems, I had no inkling that he would never go home.

I think it was morning, although my memory might be wrong in this. I walked from my bedroom to the living room and there he was, my stepfather, Jean (French for John), sitting in the blue recliner rocker that used to be his until mother bought him a new one. He looked confused and dazed. "What am I doing here? How did I get here?" he asked as his eyes darted around.

I was startled to see him there but recognized immediately that he had died and didn't know it. "You have passed away from your body." I said as calmly as I could. "Do you remember being in the hospital?"

He thought a moment, then said, "Yes."
I looked over his shoulder and a cloud of mist was beginning to form. His mother's face appeared and she called to him. He didn't seem to hear her.

"You have died." I said. "Your mother is calling you to guide you to your new home."

Welcome-to-my-front-porchPublisher's Description:
This book offers 365 days of inspired thoughts gained while sitting on my front porch or in my humble sanctuary?and, even sometimes, from under the umbrella of my favorite sidewalk cafe. At age 76, I have been privileged to lead many lives and taken numerous spiritual paths. I am not one to put a name to my beliefs; I simply sit and open up to the Universe, waiting in silence to gain insights and ideas. Like the Dalai Lama, I merely want to come from love. Is there another place from which any of us can truly emerge? I think not.

For you, my readers, I want this book to be a daily sample of spiritual nectar. I ask that you sip from this bound bird feeder like the red-throated hummingbirds do from the glass feeder on my front porch.

When referring to God, I often call Him/Her by different names. I love thinking of God as the Beloved, but at other times I might picture Him as the Divine, or maybe, Her, as Infinite Love. I also refer to God in both the masculine and feminine gender. I remember, as a child, we had a minister in our church who always ended the service with this benediction, "May the Mother love of the Father God go with you." Isn't that beautiful? Where my naming of God does not resonate with you, please substitute your own name for Him/Her?one that better suits your own spiritual path.

Buck Rogers, 2012 - Planets at War!

buck-rogersThe Astrology of December 21, 2012

Anita Burns

According to a lot of people, December, 2012 will bring either great disaster, or great awakening. What's the astrology about all of this?

Astrology is about cycles. All of the 2012 configurations, began with the harmonic convergence in the 1980s and was stepped up in 2011 when a series of hard aspects between Uranus and Pluto began. There were Grand Crosses with planets in Cardinal signs (These are Aries, Cancer, Libra, Virgo).

Uranus - the planet of independence and unexpected change had a hand in the "Arab Spring." Then there was the "Occupy movement" spurred on by the interactions of Uranus with Pluto. Pluto has a hand in shifting old energy that needs changing. He is not subtle. He is an atom bomb.

What's different with this cycle of Pluto and Uranus?
In 2012, the galactic equator stands at 0 degrees Capricorn. This is where the Sun will be at the Winter solstice - Dec. 21.

At 11:12 GMT on December 21, the Sun will contact what is called the "Dark Rift" located near the center of the galaxy. This is referred to by the Mayans as the "Cosmic Womb," a place of great transformation, death, birth, and awakening from darkness.

With this alignment, plus Pluto in Capricorn, old structures that have been stable for a long time in society are crumbling and need to be renovated.

The players for this time of year are Uranus, Jupiter, Saturn, Pluto, plus minor support figures of Mars, Mercury, and Venus.

Archangel Raziel

Patron Angel of Law Makers and Lawyers

Archangel Raziel is known for taking back your power, spiritual understanding and clairvoyance.

My client asked me for guidance regarding DUI charges that would affect her upcoming future driving/job record, limited changes in lifestyle, as well as her self -esteem. I asked Archangel Raziel for spiritual insight on how to address this problem.

Archangel Raziel’s reaction was regarding how she would take her self out of the victim hood mode. It was a blessing that she was safe and not harmed. It could have been worse.  No one was injured or harmed in a traffic accident.  It was a wake up call to address what path she was traveling on.  She needed to be thanking the police officers that pulled her over, who saved her life. The public defender assigned to represent her, felt that the evidence was unclear, and asked for a continuation. The prosecutor that was assigned to do his job acknowledged the findings of the court.  The judge ruled on a further date.

Love, Passion, and Astrology

Sexuality is a complex subject. It is probably written about more than any other subject. When it comes to sexuality in astrology, much can be said that goes far beyond your sun sign at birth. I’m often asked questions like “I’m an Aries. Am I compatible with Virgos?  This is something like saying, “I’m an American. Am I compatible with Italians?”  Astrology can determine, in finite detail, your sexual nature; what kinds of mates are better for you than others; what types you will be attracted to or draw to you; what you expect from a mate; whether you are likely to have one committed relationship or many, and what they’ll be like.

Determining all this however, takes more than just looking at your “Sign.” A complete horoscope needs to be charted. The astrologer will then look at your Sun and Moon signs, the asteroid Juno, your fifth, seventh, eighth, and twelfth houses, what planets are there and what signs are on those houses and the planets that “rule” them. Pretty complex stuff, but worth the effort. You’ll know more about yourself, or another, than years of traditional analysis could ever reveal. I won’t go into technical detail here, but there are some important things you can found out from your Sun sign.

The day you are born, the Sun is said to be “in” a certain sign. This is what you know as your “sign.” Although your Sun sign is but a fraction of your love personality, it is a significant one.

The Sun represents your basic inner self, your overall inner direction. Keeping in mind that other things in your chart will adjust and alter the influences of the Sun, these energies will be with you and you will express them in many, if not all, ways.

Hand-Kissing

ARIES:  With your fire, you’ll be a driving force in any relationship. Your powerful libido energy can stir newly awakened feelings in your partner(s). Choose partners who aren’t likely to be singed by your heat.

Product Review - Wellness Pendants

I received, for review, two of the Wellness Pendants that he said have been doing some amazing things for people. I am usually skeptical of things like this, but after reviewing another company's energy jewelry with milk, positive results, I thought that these merited a closer look.

They are well made, of sturdy metal. I couldn't fine anywhere in there packaging, flyer,  or on the website, what the metal is. I assume it is a nickel/silver alloy. It looks like it anyway. Since I am allergic to nickel, I was hesitant to wear them, but I did anyway.

Oddly enough, I did not get my usual rash. I wore the first one, for a few days and still no rash. I switched to the second one that has a slightly different design on it and the "energy buttons" on the back are also different. Also no rash. I wore it for a few days too.

Looking on the box, there is no information that tells me how the two pendants are different or for different uses, so I assume they do the same things.
