We humans, and everything in the Universe, evolved out of an organizing intelligence that is the source of all life, and indeedall-that-is. This evolution can be seen in the level of intelligence displayed by various life forms. A sunflower is more evolved than a rock. It moves of its own accord to follow the sun across the sky. A worm is more evolved than a sunflower. Poke it, and it will curl up to protect itself. A goldfish is more evolved that a worm. It sees food, goes after it and eats. A dog is more evolved than a goldfish. If it has been trained, it will sit when told to do so in order to be fed. The boy that feeds the dog, is even more evolved.
What we see in these various life forms, as they ascend the ladder of evolution, is an increasing amount of intelligence. As intelligence evolves, it becomes more self-aware. The flower and the earthworm possess only what is called subjective or objective mind, their own small portion of underlying organizing intelligence. Their minds are subjective because they cannot think about themselves. They can only react in a programmed way to the input or stimulation they receive. The boy, and perhaps to a lesser extent the dog, have both a subjective mind and an objective mind The subjective mind keeps them breathing and their bodies functioning. The objective mind can think about itself and analyze a situation.
Each human has a subjective and an objective mind and these are inextricably connected because the latter evolved from the former. It is the job of the subjective mind to take the input it receives from the objective mind and use it to create our reality. If you have ever seen someone hypnotized, you have seen this in action. The hypnotist bypasses the objective mind of his subject and speaks directly to the subjects subjective mind. If he tells the subjective mind the body feels no pain, and the body will feel no pain. The subjects subjective mind has no choice but to attempt to bring to reality whatever has been impressed upon it as true, by an objective mind. And since the subjective mind, like all mind, evolved from and is still connected to the organizing intelligence that is the source of all-that-is, this all-encompassing, organizing intelligence, or universal subjective mind, will go to work to support the objective minds beliefs.
This is why what we believe will happen to us, usually does happen. If we believe we are destined to be poor, we will be poor. If we believe that we will catch a cold when we sit in a draft, we indeed will catch a cold. Therefore, we must be very careful about what we believe. In order to have the life we want, it is often necessary for us to change our beliefs. The easiest way to have the life we dream about is to believe we have the life we dream about, and then take those actions that naturally flow from this belief. The subjective mind will do the rest.
