We have just completed a 4 universal year (2002) and are entering the 5th year (2003) in a nine year cycle. In numerology, we move through nine-year intervals that represent aspects of growth. The major cycle for us is 9 years. Each number reflects principles in action, and you will find where you are in the sequence based on your personal number for the year. Regardless of where you find yourself in the cycle, you will move through each of the numbers sequentially in nine-year increments throughout your life.
On a universal level, we can look for many changes to occur throughout our world in 2003 The #5 unleashes a period of tumultuous activity and unexpected turns of events. An adolescent attitude prevails with many different arenas of activity unfolding at the same time coupled with a short attention span. Information will be accelerated, and there is potential for systems overload with too much stimulus. Discernment is necessary because there will be those who will try to take advantage of financial instability or lack of knowledge. Agreements may be rushed into without full reading of contracts. Legal entanglements abound. Action without detailed or proper planning can backfire, leaving things in disarray. Power players may want what they want without concern for how their actions violate the rights of others. There will be pawns in a worldwide contest, and it is important to seek long-range solutions rather than quick fixes that won’t work over time. This can be an unsettled period, with financial leakages. However, it is also a time when those things that have been stuck get unstuck. There is a lot of movement, and change can ultimately be for the better. This is an active and dynamic year that may feel like a whirlwind when completed. But by its end, the landscape will have changed and more mature attitudes will begin to take hold.

How to find your number
In order to determine what your number is throughout 2003, add the numeric value of the month of your birth (April = 4), to the day of your birth, to the universal year number 5 (representing 2+0+0+3=5). If you have a total that is a double-digit number, add it together until you have only one remaining number between 1 and 9. To find the number for 2003, a person whose birthday is May 20 would add 5 + 20 + 5=30. 3+0=3. This person’s personal number will be 3 throughout the year from January through December.

2003 Overview

1 – You have completed a cycle of nine years and now open the door to new opportunities and sequence of growth. The more you released from the past last year, the more room you made for a dynamic future. Open your mind, be willing to pursue possibilities, and gather your courage and stamina. It may be a demanding year, and there will be tests presented related to your level of maturity. If you allow impulse to rule you, there can be unpleasant consequences to hasty actions. If you listen to that still, small voice within that counsels constraint in the face of temptation, you can further your goals by adhering to ethics and the Golden Rule.

2 – After last year’s initial thrust of planting seeds for the future, this year it’s time for those seeds to germinate. A lot of inner work is important now, as there can be delays or frustrations in manifesting everything you want. More time is required. More data is necessary. Look at the quality of all your interactions in life, starting with the quality of your own thoughts. Are you nourishing yourself with positive thinking and good food, or draining and depleting yourself with doubt, self-criticism, and junk food? How about your partnerships? Are they supportive and mutually nurturing, or draining and depleting? It’s time to weed out what doesn’t contribute to beneficial growth. Strengthen all aspects that reflect good in your life, and develop a stronger faith in the many provisions you have been given for the journey…even when you can’t see them!

3 – After last year’s requirement for more patience and willingness to wait for right timing, this year is when the creative bloom comes forward. Find avenues that allow for greater self-expression, creativity, imagination, playfulness, humor, and childlike delight. This is a year of attraction, and when you believe in yourself and possibilities, you draw them to you. When you feel diminished or invisible, you become a pawn to emotional blackmail. Find a merry group of friends, a wonderful outlet for your love of beauty, and bring a gift of optimism to the many who need it during what might otherwise be a confusing time. You can inspire and motivate, so choose people and situations that encourage you to do so!

4 – It’s time to look at all the structured situations in your life from relationships to physical foundations of your body and home and work. Where are things solid, and where are they in need of shoring up or restructuring? Where do you feel stuck in a rut, and where are you open to possibilities for a more dynamic future? Take a personal assessment of safety issues, including your financial health. Make practical decisions that protect and enhance your assets, and consolidate your position so you are not overloaded. Grapple with issues that bring tangible results, and be willing to risk a little. When you find yourself coming to a hurdle in the road, jump over it. As you do, you are not only strengthened, you are transformed!

5 – It’s a year of change, requiring flexibility and adaptability in the face of unexpected events or opportunities to expand. It is time to say “Yes!” to life and open to possibilities. However, that being said, it’s also important to take on manageable projects or events. If you overload yourself, you will find the year slipping away, as you cannot give enough attention to any one area. Moodiness and critical attitudes are an indication that you need to re-think what you are doing and moderate your activities. Regardless of age, there is an adolescent influence present that wants to go forward without thought of consequences. Remember that everything is possible, but it requires follow-through and concern for the well-being and dignity of others in the equation..

6 – After a busy or changeable year, the focus now is on the value of whatever you are involved with. You will look at traditions, relationships, service, health, belief systems, and find yourself taking a position about what you expect from others, and determining if what they expect from you is appropriate or not. It’s time for a more mature approach to your life with consideration given to how you are perceived within your community, home, and at work. What are you receiving for what you give, and where are you trying to “fix” things that are not really your responsibility? Family issues may be center stage including health concerns. However, as you adopt an attitude of Love as the answer, you will find what you need to move through any and all circumstances.

7 – After last year’s concerns and responsibility, the focus now is on your deeper needs and soul purpose. Why are you here? What is the meaning of life, and your part in it? It is a low energy year, and time for rest and recharging your batteries. Any area of specialized study is helped by this influence, but if you want to go out and be party animal of the year, you may find your energy level waning. It’s time to retreat from the world, so to speak, and find your spiritual sustenance and roots. Taking time for yourself isn’t rejection of others, it’s simply an act of self-preservation. More rest, meditation, time spent in nature, and other ways of achieving solitude are very helpful to your overall well being. This can be a rich and full year of insights, greater knowledge, and reinvigoration. Be good to your body and your psyche, and you’ll be well rewarded as the cycle continues.

8 – Intense energy surrounds you and may bubble up from within. It’s time to organize, manage, direct, and recognize your life as a system of dynamic energy. You are the analyst, and it’s up to you to bring greater harmony, more balance, and a feeling of achievement through your efforts. You can work with others to accomplish a greater goal, and you can enlist the assistance of powerful people. As you utilize your abilities and focus your energy, a great deal is possible. Just remember that you have multiple needs, not just one. If you over-extend in one area of your life at the expense of others, you will be out of balance. The trick to the year is giving to each as is required, leaving time for rest and enjoyment. Make life a symphony this year, not a cacophonic mess!

9 - This is the end of a cycle, and you have the opportunity to review and release attitudes, situations, and relationships that no longer work. As you clear out elements of the past that have served their purpose, you make room for new growth as the next cycle unfolds next year. By holding on to past hurts, disagreements, or pettiness, you limit possibilities. It’s time for opportunity thinking, and this requires going to the top of the metaphorical mountain to gain perspective of the bigger picture. A loved one may move on, but if so, it is time. Gratitude for your life exactly as it is opens the floodgates of grace. As you gain insight about your life, you can become a beacon of light to others, inspiring and uplifting through your sharing and caring. This year requires bigness of character. As you reflect maturity, you honor your journey and all that this past nine years has meant. This is the measure of soul growth.

January/February Projection 2003

1Jan: Gather data and define and refine partnerships. Follow your instincts and intuition, and if delays take place, more information may be required, or there is something going on behind the scenes. Patience, tact, and diplomacy are your allies. And in the mix, don’t forget Faith!
Feb: Playful attitudes need to prevail as you open avenues for greater creative self-expression and opportunities to shine a light for others. Use humor and optimism to expand your horizons. If emotional issues arise, find ways of being more detached. Recognize where you have to let others handle their own issues.

2Jan: Creative solutions are possible as you express more freely. Emotions can be volatile as someone is unstable or overly dramatic, so be aware of boundaries and your need to be nurtured as well as nourishing. Encouragement and appreciation are important. Like a beautiful flower, you need the right ingredients to bloom. Make sure you choose them!
Feb: Practicality is called for. Solidify plans, check the sturdiness of your foundations, and be willing to stretch the parameters of what you think you can do. Rites of passage offer opportunities to overcome limiting viewpoints and may signal a need to transcend an old reality that no longer works.

3Jan: Structures need attention. Focus on practicality and reorganize if necessary. Idealism may be misplaced, but you can build on a solid foundation with people who demonstrate loyalty and dependability. Rites of passage take place, and by pushing through any feelings of inadequacy or shyness, you can transform an aspect of your life.
Feb: Action filled opportunities offer a chance to expand horizons, explore possibilities, and sift through reams of information. You need a challenge and something to look forward to this month. Just make sure you also realize how much time you realistically have to accomplish what needs doing. Great time for reaching out…but be discerning about what you grasp!

4Jan: Change is taking place. Expand horizons, travel by mind or physical means to experience new ideas, people, and vistas. Moderate tendency to over indulgence, and enjoy the movable feast in front of you. Read fine print on contracts, examine your own motives for honesty, and be discerning when offered unrealistic opportunities.
Feb: Matters of the heart may take center stage. Your ability to care, show compassion, and take care of those who need help may be called for. However, check out where you try to fix everything for everyone, and where you need to say “no” to something that is inappropriate. When you do whatever you do with a loving heart, great feelings of appreciation come back to you. If it’s appropriate to help someone stand on their own, a loving response is still called for.

5 Jan: Family concerns, your belief about the way things “should” be, and opportunities for recognition all vie for position this month. Hold to a loving response, even when saying “No!” Take care of health concerns, and appreciate the good people in your life. Service to others brings appreciation. When you come from bigness of spirit, rewards are yours.
Feb: Low energy may be felt, or a need to have time to study or be alone. Look for deeper meaning to your life, and ask some of those life-defining questions such as “Why am I here? What is the purpose of my life?” Old issues or a past relationship may resurface to be resolved through more maturity. New relationships can feel “fated” and regardless of what confronts you, the purpose of the month is to refine your understanding of yourself and your life.

6Jan: Take time for more rest and get away from the maddening crowds when possible.. Nature is healing. Gardening is good for the soul (even in January). Special projects are invigorating, and you can find a deeper connection to the indwelling spirit through taking a quiet approach to yourself. Resolution of something from the past is possible now.
Feb: Gather your organizing skills and direct your efforts towards achieving goals or bringing more balance into your life, whichever is necessary. Adopting an attitude of team spirit allows greater results. Trying to do everything yourself, or holding others to impossible standards, only leads to stress and frustration. Flow with life, and take time to meditate and create harmony in everything you are doing.

7Jan: There are many things requiring attention, direction, and proper management. Deal with what’s in front of you to the best of your present ability. Find more balance and harmony, and when stressed, get a massage, take an Epsom salt bath, or listen to music that brings you back to equilibrium. Intense energy, but dynamic results are possible.
Feb: Something may go out of your life now, making way for new opportunities. Gratitude is the appropriate response to whatever life brings, even if it does not feel like something for which to be grateful. Release old attitudes and limiting relationships to people or things that hold you back. As you see things from a higher perspective and filter events through a larger lens, you can reflect insights to others that are invaluable. Remember, even when we don’t understand it, Spirit has a plan!

8 Jan: Things to complete from last year are presented. Something may go out of your life. Release it with love. Refine your psyche by clearing out unnecessary clutter within and without. Gratitude opens the way to greater good. Surging love can be demonstrated through works that inspire and motivate others. Maturity gains. Pettiness only hurts you. Choose the higher road in all things!
Feb: Opportunities for making connections can be very fortuitous. Your leadership skills or unique qualities may be called for. Stand up and speak out for what you believe. Your courage, stamina, and willingness to forge ahead will open doors to a brighter future. On the other hand, if you are willful and demanding, you may have to face results of impulsive actions that you later regret. So, when in doubt, listen to a higher authority!

9Jan: Your individuality, leadership, character, stamina, and courage begin the year’s adventure. Network; bring your voice and opinion forward. Reasoned self-discipline gains, whereas impulsive actions lead to disappointment. Observe how others see you. Make adjustments if you don’t like what is reflected back. Stand up and be counted!
Feb: There can be a feeling of sudden connection or a sudden break from someone. You have potential for being more insightful and aware of subtleties, but can also feel things more deeply than normal. Frame yourself in reasonable boundaries so that others do not overwhelm you. Pay attention to the quality of everything you choose, from thoughts to food to relationships. Criteria now has to be “Quality”. Faith is your ally, fear is not. Choose only those elements which support and uplift you. Leave the rest behind!
