Jan Phillips own quest has led her into and out of a religious community, across the U.S. on a Honda motorcycle, and around the world on a one-woman peace pilgrimage. Blending east and west, art and activism, reflection and ritual. Jans transformational presentations inspire consciousness and commitment. A visionary with her eye on the future and her heart in the present, she is an invigorating speaker and story-teller who weaves music and imagery into all her presentations. Inspiring a New Age Whether we consider ourselves artists or not, we are all in the business of creating our lives and co-creating our culture. Each of us is here to express our potential, to engage in the work of turning thought into matter, Spirit into form. We are the sound of Gods breath and the voice of the earth, and our utterances, if conscious, can illumine and heal. To create is to make something whole from the pieces of our lives, and in the process, to become more whole ourselves. It is a healing act, a leave-taking from the chaos as we move from the choppy surface toward the stillness of the center. In the act of creation, we move beyond dualities to discover and express our oneness with the Divine, with the human family, with the earth and all her creatures. As we find ourselves in the music, plays, prose and poetry of others, so do others find themselves in the creations we conjure. As we are inspired, so, too, do we inspire, breathe life into others and this is the sacrament of creativity. Perhaps it is time for an epochal shift from the Age of Information to an Age of Inspiration, an age of conscious creativity that fosters compassion and communion. There is not one of us here who is not a creator. What then are we bringing into the world? What exists now that would not be here were it not for us? What are we inspiring by our words and actions? How are we celebrating the sacrament of our own creativity? The Messenger Website Copyright © 2005 The Messenger - All rights reserved |
