The inner exploration and inner journey towards one’s true self
brings an external counterpart...a reflection of our inner flowering. What is your basic approach to life? Occasionally it’s good to take stock of your life, beginning with the essentials. And what’s more essential than your outlook on life? That’s the root from which everything else grows, from values to daily decisions. Self-questioning and introspection yields many rewards. It can lead to discoveries, sudden clarifications, and an opening of the heart. Those who meditate or keep journals, know the power of looking within. While it’s good to be in the present moment, it’s also beneficial to recognize what brought you to that moment. Naturally, you have to ask the tough questions and be honest. For instance, what are you doing with your life? Are you doing what you planned? Where is your heart, focus, or full concentration? Is it on making a living, paying bills or escaping? If you believe that life is a series of tests and lessons to bring you to your highest form of evolution, are you on track or slacking off? Do entertainment, sexual, or other addictions take up your time and energy? Do you make your moments count toward helping some facet of yourself (and consequently mankind) evolve? Are your goals aligned to the highest good? Everything we do affects not just ourselves, but the planet as well. Clearing yourself, (which means clearing negative energy from your consciousness on all levels) raises your vibration, and the vibration and consciousness of the planet. After you’ve established your basic philosophy of life, next examine your patterns and behaviors and see if they have gotten you to your goals. Do you need to “change” something about yourself? Are you stuck in a pattern that leads you continually down the same emotional and mental road? When certain patterns are repeated, do you find yourself saying, “Oh no, not again,” or “Why does this always happen?” Personal growth can be like an explorer in the deep woods. When he comes across a familiar tree or rock, he knows he’s been there before. Self-growth is like the explorer finding new views, vistas, another valley or mountain. It’s the same for us on our inner journey when we discover new terrain, as it generates an inner excitement of self-revelation. The inner exploration and inner journey towards one’s true self brings an external counterpart. The external reality is fresh and exciting, as it’s a reflection of our inner flowering. This is true change. It’s not necessarily becoming a different person, but rather uncovering the true self. It takes courage to honestly look at yourself, and even more courage to grow. Being in denial is costly, as it doesn’t lead to soul’s evolution. Clearing yourself leads to self-respect, self-acceptance, self-love and self-esteem. Notice all the “self” words! If you believe we’re here to work on the “self,” now is the time to do it. Remember, everything you do counts in the scheme of things. Help yourself, help the planet! © 2004 Christine A. Loter
