Here we are again coming up on the Spring Cleaning time of year. This is a great time to go over some Bagua Basics and give you some ideas for cures to help enhance your life.
The Bagua is like a blueprint that you can superimpose over your home as a whole, for an individual room, or for your business or workplace. The most important thing to remember is that when you place your bagua blueprint the Career section of the bagua always is placed at the entry door of the part of the house or room you are entering. Therefore, if you enter the house from a door in the center of house, the Career area will line up in the main doorway, the Knowledge area will be to the left, and the Helping People area will be to the right. The same will hold true for a single room that you may want to add cures to, even though you may enter from a different direction than you were heading when you entered the house. The bagua placement is determined by the placement of the entry door.
This is a more Westernized version of the eight-sided bagua shape found in the actual Chinese Feng Shui tradition.
By enhancing these areas of your home or of a room, you activate these areas of your life. When you place one of the cures in the respective area, that area will activate. To activate your career, place a cure in the Career area; to bring more helpful people/clients in, you would place a cure in the Helpful People area; for love or romance, activate the Marriage/Relationship area and so on.
What do you mean add a cure? Cures are any adjustment or enhancement you add to an area in order to improve or correct the flow of "Chi, or energy, in that area of the room, home or workplace. All cures are put in place with positive intention and respect. Cures do not have to be only Oriental in design. The most effective cures, as I have found in my practice, are the ones that are personal and meaningful to the individual or individuals who must live with them on a day to day basis. Cures can be as simple, yet powerful, as just cleaning the home or a congested room, adding fresh plants or flowers, or they can be as monumental as moving to a new home or adding a room, or removing a large piece of furniture or decorative item. Here are some cures recommended by David Daniel Kennedy in his book, Feng Shui Tips for a Better Life.
LIGHT ENERGY: These cures include bright and light-refracting influences into the home or workplace. They are easy ways to increase the Chi of any area and you can add the extra power or color to light very easily. The round, faceted crystal ball fits into this category.
SOUND ENERGY: These cures use bells, wind chimes, gongs, and other sound generating devices to awaken and enliven and protect and stimulate the energy. By the way, the placement of the object is sufficient, you dont need to be ringing bells and banging gongs every day!
LIVING FORCE ENERGY: In this category you include the alive and nourishing real life energy of plants, flowers, aquariums, & fishbowls to heal and uplift the chi of an area.
WATER ENERGY: Water adds flowing, abundant and prosperous energy to your home or office through the use of fountains, waterfalls, streams, and other water features.
You can also use heavy objects, mobiles, powered objects (use the Three Secrets to make your computer or TV activate the areas they are in), add color, add fragrances, add touchables, imagination and inspiration!
Remember that clutter accumulates negative energy so the first order of business is to clear and clean!
