" Each spot His reason touches grows alive with beauty and what seemed ugly in the darkness…is suddenly released to loveliness." (ACIM, T353)

A Course In Miracles lovingly refers to God as “The Great Transformer.” Spirit is the way to newness and the Source of great potential in all of life. The text passage above, speaks passionately to our longing for peace and beauty in our experience of life. For most of us, that will involve transforming ourselves on some level. The Course gently guides us to an illuminated perception that brightens our world and transforms our lives. It is a shift in consciousness that comes only through choice and willingness to see things differently.

I often say the only thing I know for sure, is that I don’t know anything for sure. I recall how perplexing I first found the expression “The only constant is change.” Yet paying attention to the experience of Life itself validates the great truth of these words. It doesn’t take long to discover that permanence is never found in the physical world of form. Each aspect of nature witnesses to the opposite–– impermanence, growth and constant change are very real. Transformation along the human journey is inevitable. The question one might ask, perhaps, is “How will you choose to experience your own metamorphosis?”

My favorite author on Transformation, Ernest Holmes wrote, "every apparent death is a resurrection; therefore, today, gladly I die to everything that is unlike good. Joyfully I am resurrected into that which is beautiful, enduring and true. Silently I pass from separation into oneness.” (pg.149, This Thing Called You)

Holmes published this book in 1948, decades before I would discover my own connectedness, well before I would be drawn to the sacred text, A Course in Miracles. Yet it remains a profound key point that Mystics have proclaimed for centuries. There is only One of us. The idea that we are separate from each other and from God is only error thinking, as The Course would state.

In the Sufi tradition, it is said there is a fire of longing that leads us to the most beautiful transformation of all, surrendering into the arms of the Beloved. This surrendering becomes the transformation and occurs at a turning point in ones heart. It is when the soul awakens to the ecstasy of Divine Union. A Course in Miracles defines this same transformation or awakening as Heaven and puts it this way: “it is merely an awareness of perfect oneness and the knowledge that there is nothing else; nothing outside this oneness.” (T384)

Whether we awaken to this Divine Union through a yearning for peace and beauty in our life or a longing for spiritual connection, there is always the hand of the Great Transformer leaning toward you. From the glowing Light of new perspective, we walk the path of transformation, rejoicing in a vision that knows the way and Love that guides each step.

Namaste’ dear Ones.
