A week after 9/11/01, I heard an NPR radio interview with author, Eric Darton (Divided We Stand: The Biography of New York City's World Trade Center) who shared his daughter's reaction to the attacks on the World Trade Center. On 9/11, she looked out their apartment window framing Lower Manhattan and gazed at the smoking rubble. Then, with quiet sincerity, she said: I'm beginning to see the new view... In her innocence, she made an internal leap which Eric said he could notat least not yet. I was deeply touched by this notion of a new view, since the WTC attack was, metaphorically speaking, The Tower card of the Tarot come to life as a global wake-up call. I use Tarot as a right-brain tool to hear my own inner wisdom more clearly and, in my work as a Life Design and Active-Intuition Coach, to help others consciously redesign their lives to reflect their own inner visions. To me, the archetypal images of Tarot are worth thousands of words. But words add meaning to our inner visions, giving them fuel to manifest in our reality. As we blend vision with verbal vibrations, we create an alchemical magic spell which, according the Tarot, is reflected by The Magician card. Through envisioning a new view and fueling it via words, images and other modern-rituals, I believe we can re-vision our future. With this in mind, I invite you to use December 2001the gateway between the tests and lessons of 2001 and the new opportunities of 2002 to design a personal magic spell and create your own new view. To do so, close your eyes and turn inward to gaze through your own inner window. If you need guidance or focus, call on your inner Priestess, the Tarot archetype of intuitive wisdom. Can you begin to see a new view of your inner visions and dreams? If your view is foggy or dark, can you at least see a glimmer of somethinga light at the end of the proverbial tunnel? Stay focused on the light at the end of the tunnel, rather than the darkness around you if you can. Trust that your individual energy and unique contributions are essential to creating a new view for us allnot just for yourself. We are all energetically connected, according to both metaphysics and quantum physics. By beginning to see your personal new view, you take a step toward it. By giving it shape via images and words, you take bigger steps. As you move forward, you organically create a quantum-shift in your energy, as well as our collective future. My vision ritual is inspired by Eric Darton's wise young daughter: On Christmas Day, I will create a new view-window for my wall. I'll put on inspiring music and clip magazine photos to create a collage-window of my new view. In addition to personal metaphors, it will include images reflecting the tools of The Magician cardcups or flowers (emotions/ water); crystals, swords or birds (mind/ air); disks, coins or planets (tangible-physical/ earth); wands or candles (spirit-intuition/ fire). I invite you to create a tangible representation of your own vision during this month. Sing your vision, dance it, draw it, write it as a poem or conversation with God/dess, bake it, sculpt it in clay or wood. However you desire, bring your new view into form before the New Year. It is my sincere hope that by so doing we can quantum-shift our energy to create a new view for us all in 2002. The Messenger Website Copyright © 2005 The Messenger - All rights reserved |
