Dear Louise:
I hope that you know something about ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyper Disorder) so that you can tell me how my son and I can heal from it. Although sometimes I feel that I can live with it, I would prefer to overcome it. I hope you can help me. O.L., the Netherlands

Dear O.L.,
Isn’t it interesting that the so-called epidemic of ADHD has come about at the same time that our eating habits have turned to sugar, white flour, various chemicals, and processed foods? This diet is difficult enough for adults to handle; however, many children’s small bodies react severely to these foods.

Many parents are pressured into turning to drugs such as Ritalin to handle the symptoms. But these drugs are similar to cocaine and create a lifelong dependence on chemicals and street drugs. Ritalin has actually been called pediatric cocaine.

It’s far better to try dietary changes before turning to drugs. Remove all of the above foods and ingredients from your son’s diet for a month and see how he improves. Also, both of you can do affirmations in front of a mirror—you can even sing them together!

What is your opinion of treats such as ice cream and cake? I’ve had so many tidbits of advice from nutritionists and books and so forth that I feel a bit confused. I’ve been going in circles. Do you think it’s better to cut sugary foods like these out altogether? And what do you recommend for snacks? Thank you!

Dear L.N.,
Yes, it’s best for your health to cut out sugary foods altogether. Protein, hard-boiled eggs, hard cheese, nuts, and fruits make the best snacks. They give your body energy and are good building blocks for renewed cells.

Learn to eat for health and you’ll have a spring in your step well into your later years. What we eat now contributes to our health or lack of it as we age. Look at the people around you and notice the condition of their bodies and what they eat. Affirm: I ENJOY EATING HEALTHY FOODS. I LOVE MY BODY.

Dear Louise,
I’m writing to you because I’ve had much success (through treatment) in many areas of my life except one. I was born with a rather severe speech impediment, which still remains in my consciousness no matter how much I’ve treated it, and therefore it’s still reflected in my outer expression. Can you suggest how I can banish this concept from my consciousness?

I once worked with a young man like you who also had a challenging speech pattern. With yoga, deep relaxation, a lot of mirror work, and positive affirmations, he made impressive progress. These are the affirmations he used. Say them out loud in front of a mirror as often as you can:

I AM GRATEFUL FOR MY BEAUTIFUL VOICE. I LOVE MY DELIGHTFUL ACCENT. I AM SO GLAD I CAN SPEAK. I FORGIVE MY PARENTS ALL INJUSTICES. I AM AT PEACE WITH MYSELF. I BELIEVE IN MIRACLES.
