There are many definitions of values. For our purpose, lets say that values are activities, preferences, or behaviors that you are naturally drawn to. And lets distinguish your true values-values that you live by or are willing to live by -from the values you think you 'should' hold.

If you say that family is a value you hold but you are not taking any steps to spend time with your family, then this is not a true value for you. Some examples of values are: autonomy, contribute, creativity, fame, honesty, leadership, marriage, security, simplicity, wealth. Decide what your top 5 values are.

If you'd like a list of words to choose from, drop me an email. Once you choose five, go deeper. Get clear about what you mean. For example, if one of your values is security, what exactly does that mean to you? A million in the bank, a job that's impossible to be fired from, or working in a safe neighborhood?

Once you're clear, make a commitment to have all of your true values fulfilled in your life. Write them down and keep them in front of you for a week. Whenever you're asked to do something, take a look at your values and see if the activity is in line with one or more of your values.

Take a look at the five most important goals you've set for yourself recently. Can you match up each goal to one of your values? If not, maybe its time to toss that one!

Orienting your life around your values is one of the keys to attracting what you'd like more of in your life. Do you find yourself struggling for the things you most want in life? When you learn and apply the principles of attraction, the things and circumstances you most want naturally come to you with grace and ease.
